Apostille of documents issued by Romania
Documents that can be apostilled in Romania:
- Court decisions (original or legalized copy), issued by Romanian courts.
- Notarial documents (for example: notarial declarations, legalized copies of documents, legalized translations of documents).
- Documents issued by bailiffs (originals or certified copies).
- Documents issued by the Trade Register (original, signed and with the letterhead of the Ministry of Justice).
- Birth certificates (in original, issued after 01.01.1998).
- Marriage certificates (in original, issued after 01.01.1998).
- Death certificates (in original, issued after 01.01.1998). Note : Civil status documents issued before 1998 must be exchanged for new ones.
- Criminal record certificates and driving record certificates (in original, issued within the last 6 months from the police station or the General Police Inspectorate).
- Tax residency certificates (written in Romanian and English, issued by the financial administrations in sectors 1-6).
- Certificates of domicile and citizenship or legal status vis-à-vis the Romanian state (in original, issued by the National Inspectorate for Personal Records).
- Certificates regarding the composition of the family (in the original, issued by the General Directorates of Public Records of Persons from sectors 1-6).
Documents required for apostille :
- The original document to be apostilled.
- Copy of the applicant's identity document.
- Service contract if an external service is used.
The delivery time is 5 working days, and the apostille is applied to both the original document and its translation.
