Allowances for children with Romanian citizenship

The value of the allowance
- Children under 2 years: 718 RON/month.
- Children between 2 and 18 years: 291 RON/month.

Romanian law ensures the state allowance for all children of Romanian citizens under the age of 18, regardless of whether their parents are employed in Romania or not.

For a child to receive this allowance, at least one of the parents must have a Romanian bulletin. Ideally, the parent should be domiciled in Romania. If the parents live in different regions of the country, they can choose which of the addresses they will submit the necessary documents to.

Documents required to request the allowance:
- The application for granting the allowance,
- Copy of the Romanian bulletin of the parent,
- Copy and original of the Romanian birth certificate of the child,
- Copy of the residence permit (if one of the parents is a resident in the EU),
- Parents' Romanian citizenship certificate,
- Power of attorney for representation through our lawyers,
- Consent of the other parent (if necessary),
- Bank account statement for the allowance transfer.

For children born outside the country, a certificate is required attesting that the parents do not benefit from financial support for the child in that country. The child must have a Romanian birth certificate.

The case of unmarried parents
If the child's parents are not married, but the father is mentioned in the birth certificate, he must give the mother his consent through a notarized declaration in order to claim the allowance.
